The first weekend of August 2025 was one to remember! I had the chance to DJ two back-to-back events for a great organization, Sarasota OUT’s Big Gay Weekend, and it was a great time all around.
Sunset Booze Cruise on the Gulf
Things started off in Sarasota at LeBarge Port, where I DJ’d my first-ever boat party. This was definitely a bucket list moment. The three-hour sunset cruise was so vibey and ethereal. Golden-hour views over the Gulf, ocean air, and a crowd that came ready to move. As a DJ, there’s not much more you can ask for!
I played a mix of tech house and remixed classics from icons like Donna Summer, Madonna, and Lady Gaga to bring a sense of familiarity with a twist. Between live drag performances and the great crowd, the energy was just great all night long.
I brought my own setup for the night: two 15-inch speakers and an 18-inch sub, with the sound routed to both levels of the boat so everyone could feel it, no matter where they were. Let’s just say that passing boats definitely had FOMO!
Neon Jungle After Party at Rose & Ivy
Once we docked, I packed up and headed straight to Rose & Ivy for the Neon Jungle After Party. The theme was “Hot, Steamy Jungle” and the crowd absolutely nailed it. All-white outfits, vibrant energy, and incredible drag performances.
I played for four straight hours, keeping the pace with upbeat pop edits and club tracks that kept the dance floor packed all night.
Two venues. Seven hours of music. One unforgettable night.
Huge thanks to everyone who showed up and made both events such a blast. Sarasota brought the energy, and I can’t wait to work with Big Gay Weekend again! (IG: @sarasotaout)
